Nursery and the Zoo Vet
The children in Nursery have been learning about what it is like to be a vet! They read the story “The Zoo Vet” and loved creating their own poorly animals from the story! We think that they look amazing and we are sure that you will agree! 🤩
Year Four ‘Smaths’
Our Year Fours have been using their mathematical knowledge during their science lesson this week, when presenting their data from their investigation on melting points of different materials. 😊
Growth Mindset in Year Six
This afternoon in Year Six during our Growth Mindset lesson, we looked at the story of Malala Yousafzai and how she helped to get an education for other girls. In groups, they made their own app that could help others over come hurdles by problem solving.
Year One’s Number Work
In Maths this week we have been finding more and less than and have begun to use the number line to help us. It’s taken time but we persevered, practised with apparatus, worked together and have now grown in confidence with a new maths tool! Well done everyone! ✔️
Super Multiplication in Year Five
This week in maths we’ve been conquering multiplying by two digits using a formal method. The children have been practising their timetables knowledge with this and have already demonstrated a great level of understanding. Well done!
Maths wizards in Reception
This week, Reception have been investigating the composition of the numbers 6, 7 and 8. They used counters and dominoes to find the missing numbers and then recorded their answers.
Exploring Jewish festivities in Year Three
All about Ross Hashanah. This half term, we are exploring all the festivities that are celebrated by people who belong to the Jewish faith. Year Three made a ‘shofar’ which is blown to signal the start of the new year.
Year Four Geographers
Year Four have been busy this week considering why rivers are important to humans, and how they can be used. They considered travel, a food source, power, drinking and other ways that rivers have been important, even for the ancient civilisations.
Maths in Year Three
We are learning about multiplying 2 digit number with 1 digit number. We had to use concrete resource first (Base 10) then use pictorial to embed our learning first. We had lots of fun in the process.
