Yesterday, Year 5 received a special visit from Matt who works in Stoke on Trent Waste Department. He visited the children in response to the letters they wrote during Hillside’s Environment Day. On this day, the children were tasked with writing a persuasive letter about the need for recycling bins in school and their concerns over the increasing levels of landfill in England. Matt was so impressed with the letters and took time out of his daily role to visit the children. He responded with a detailed letter and some additional information packs about recycling. The children thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and have vowed to continue their campaign to raise money to fund recycling bins at Hillside.
