It was an absolute pleasure for Mr Soboljew to accompany eight children from KS2 to the Stoke School Games Cricket Competition. They began their morning in a very tough group where the team batted their way to 3 victories – in one game they managed to hit over 130 runs in 40 balls!
Following lunch, they competed in a ferocious final, where the team faced incredibly technical bowlers. However, the team dug deep and showed an incredible depth of skill as they came out overall winners. Each player showed super ability, confidence and bravery. They saw gallant batting, calculated bowling and focused fielding. Perhaps more important than the result, the children should be proud in the respectful manner in which they conducted themselves, which received glowing comments from other teams.
They will now go through to the next round where they will compete at county level!
