Year 1 Showcase

Thank you to all the parents and grandparents that came along this morning to join in with the Year 1 showcase. The children enjoyed creating their own cup and ball toy and finding out about the toys you played with when you were younger.

More Able & Talented Artists

Our ceramic plates have arrived from the World of Wedgwood. They were made by our More Able and Talented artists a few weeks ago. They have patiently waited for them to be fired and delivered. I’m sure you’ll agree that they look fantastic.  

Year 6 Showcase

Year 6 parents have joined the pupils for their showcase this afternoon. They have been collaboratively working together on collage Christmas trees, Christmas bookmarks and calendars made from doileys- all things rooted with a Victorian background.

Key Stage Two Cinema Trip

Key Stage Two are excitedly waiting for Boss Baby to start at Cineworld. Popcorn and drinks at the ready!

Year 2 visit to Jodrell Bank

Year 2 have had a fantastic time at Jodrell Bank today! They’ve learnt about our solar system, watched the Apollo 11 mission launch, launched their own rockets and sat inside the inflatable planetarium to learn about the star constellations!  

Road Safety Assembly

Hillsides active crew delivered this mornings assembly to introduce road safety week. The children were taught about the importance of being bright, crossing the road safely and knowing the green cross code. Year 5 visit to Potteries Museum

On Thursday, Year 5 went on their trip to the Potteries Museum. They explored the Staffordshire Hoard and made Anglo-Saxon Pots. They also went to have a look at the spitfire in preparation for studying WW2!

Year 4 stop motion animation

Year 4 are having a very busy afternoon as animators. They are working in groups to create a stop motion animation using an APP on the iPads. I’m sure the finished animations will be very impressive!!

Children in Need Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Thank you so much to all of the parents, grandparents and other family members that came to share our EYFS and KS1 teddy bear’s picnic. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves- we hope that you did too!

Sound Foundations Firework Concert

Well done to the children who took part in the Sound Foundations Firework Concert at the Mitchell Arts Centre last night. You were all amazing! The choir sang fantastically, Hillside Rock were fab, Jack was a superb presenter and the comedy sketch was hilarious! Thank you for representing a Hillside so well.
