Dogs on School Premises

Please be reminded that dogs are not allowed on the school site,  unless they are an aid dog providing support to either a blind or deaf person. This includes dogs which are picked up and held in arms.  There are notices near all entrances to this effect.

Better Reading Partnership

Congratulations to the following children who have completed the Better Reading Partnership! They have spent the last ten weeks working with teaching assistants in school to improve their reading pace, fluency and comprehension skills and have worked hard with their parents at home. Well done to all as they have made great progress!

Internet Safeguarding Alert

We have been made aware that there is an app currently circulating amongst children.  It is called IMVU and allows you to create an avatar and speak to strangers.  It also pinpoints your location.

Music Mark Award for Hillside

Having been nominated by Stoke-on-Trent Music Service in recognition of the value we place on music, Hillside is now a 2017/18 Music Mark School Member.  It is noted that pupils at Hillside are able to access and engage with high quality music education and are offered a broad and balanced curriculum.

100% Attendance

Congratulations to the pupils who were awarded in assembly on Friday for 100% attendance for the Autumn Term. This is a great achievement- well done! Emily’s (Y6) name was drawn out of the hat and we hope that she enjoys spending her cinema voucher.
