Hillside have been kick started back into the new term with a visit from inspirational world champion, Great British kickboxer, Ellie Harbinson. Each class will be taking part in a fitness and growth mindset workshop throughout the day and will be doing activities during lunch time.

Farewell to Mrs Rhodes!
Mrs Rhodes said an emotional goodbye to the Reception class on Friday. There were lots of tears but also lots of smiles and cuddles. We held a little party whilst she opened her presents and wished her all the best for the future!
Better Reading Partnership
Congratulations for completing the Better Reading Partnership! He has spent the last ten weeks working with teaching assistants in school to improved reading pace, fluency and comprehension skills and have worked hard with his parents at home. Well done for making great progress!

Easter Fun in Nursery!
The children have loved learning about Easter, they have made cards, cakes, the Easter Garden and even been on an Easter Egg hunt in the woods. We hope you all have a fab Easter!
Easter Service
Hillside held yet another successful Easter service at Milton Church on Wednesday. Father Brian gave the opening welcome as well as the closing prayer. The children performed a range of poems and songs with an Easter theme and there was a selection of Easter songs that we sang as a school.
Forest Schools hosted at Hillside
On Friday, children from Burnwood Primary School came to experience Forest School at Hillside. We took part in den building, fun games, nature bashing (creating beautiful pictures with dandelions!) and exploring the woodland area. It was a lovely afternoon and all children had a fab time!
Mystery Readers in Nursery!
A huge thank you to our mystery readers from the last couple of weeks. Olivia’s Nannie came in and read ‘We’re Going On a Bear Hunt’, and even brought in some teddy bear sweets to take home.
