Researching Lowry in Year Six

We have been finalising our Lowry research pages this afternoon in class. They’re looking amazing and really informative too!

Map work in Reception

This week, Reception have been reading the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Following on from that, they have created their own maps of the forest that Little Red Riding Hood travelled through. We discussed the Tyrone of features that might be included on a map and they included houses, trees and the path way.

Year Four Drama

Year Four have been using hot seating to explore the characters from their English text ‘A River Ran Wild’ by Lynne Cherry. This is also supporting their science and geography work on rivers, habitats and changes to environments.

Reception: Storytelling in the woods

This week, Reception have been retelling the story of Goldilocks and the three Bears in the woods. They had great fun eating the porridge, sitting on the chairs and pretending to sleep in the beds.

Drama in Year One

Year One have started learning about the Great Fire of London and in English have been using their drama skills to tell the story of Toby! They had to add expression, use vocabulary from the story, consider how the characters felt and add actions to each part! Incredible 🔥

Year Five Non-chronological report

This week, we have been preparing a non-chronological report to summarise our learning on the Ancient Greek Olympics. Here are some snaps of the children completing a retrieval chocolate bar exercise to bring together all of their wonderful facts. Perhaps ask your child to share their most interesting fact at home!

Remembrance Day in Reception

This week we have been learning about why we have Remembrance Day. We read a lovely story Called A Day to Remember, which helped us to understand a little bit more. We then used our creative skills in the classroom  to re act, paint,  collage and colour.

Non-Chronological Reporters in Year Three

Year Three continues to explore animals from the rainforest and are preparing themselves to write a non-chronological report. Today, they identified the features through group work and discussions.
