Studying Chronology in Year Five

This week in Year Five we have been continuing to learn about the Anglo-Saxons. Our focus during the lesson was to consider how Pagan beliefs were overcome with a wave of Christianity in Anglo-Saxon society. We noted key changes on a timeline where we closely considered how changes in time were represented.    

Pottery in Year Two

Year Two have continued their learning about pottery and Clarice Cliff by experimenting with clay. Later in the week, they will use the skills they have learnt to make their own pot.

Year Four musical talents

Year Two at Gladstone Pottery Museum

Year Two have been to Gladstone Pottery Museum. They painted Art Deco plates in the style of Clarice Cliff and had a tour of the factory, learning many facts about Stoke-on-Trent’s ceramic history.

Reception as Artists

This week we have been experimenting with a range of art techniques. We have been printing heart patterns for Valentine’s Day with cardboard tubes and using our observational skills to draw a bouquet of flowers using patterns.
