Year 2 have had a fantastic time at Jodrell Bank today! They’ve learnt about our solar system, watched the Apollo 11 mission launch, launched their own rockets and sat inside the inflatable planetarium to learn about the star constellations!

Year 5 visit to Potteries Museum
On Thursday, Year 5 went on their trip to the Potteries Museum. They explored the Staffordshire Hoard and made Anglo-Saxon Pots. They also went to have a look at the spitfire in preparation for studying WW2!
Year 4 stop motion animation
Year 4 are having a very busy afternoon as animators. They are working in groups to create a stop motion animation using an APP on the iPads. I’m sure the finished animations will be very impressive!!
Children in Need Teddy Bear’s Picnic
Thank you so much to all of the parents, grandparents and other family members that came to share our EYFS and KS1 teddy bear’s picnic. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves- we hope that you did too!
Sound Foundations Firework Concert
Well done to the children who took part in the Sound Foundations Firework Concert at the Mitchell Arts Centre last night. You were all amazing! The choir sang fantastically, Hillside Rock were fab, Jack was a superb presenter and the comedy sketch was hilarious! Thank you for representing a Hillside so well.
Science Ambassadors
Our Science Ambassadors have been making and testing paper aeroplanes on the KS1 yard today at lunchtime. The most successful was made by Jack in Reception whose plane travelled nine steps!
Virtual Reality Workshop – Year 4
Year 4 are enjoying their virtual reality workshop addressing different bullying issues.
Virtual Reality in Year 6
Year 6 are currently learning about bullying through use of Virtual Reality headsets this morning. We will be discussing what bullying looks like and how we can prevent it.
Forest School
A great first session with Go Wild Forest School yesterday afternoon. The children have played games, 1,2,3 where are you, hide & seek, bat & moth and palm tag. We’ve made pom-poms, made some clay woodland animals, did some charcoal drawings, had adventures & used an African drum!
