Y6 World Cup Maths

To kick-off and the first half is underway here in the Class 6 Stadium. The tie is between the Year Six Raiders and Maths Challenge United. No fouls given yet but Raiders better watch out – The ref, Mr Frost, is usually card-happy!

Minibeast Hunt

Reception have been on a minibeasts adventure! We found lots of exciting minibeasts in the woods today including worms, beetles, earwigs, lots of woodlice, spiders, ladybird larvae, millipedes, a caterpillar and a host of other exciting creatures. Ladybirds

Reception have welcomed a family of ladybird larvae to their classroom (the little black dots on the netting). They are eagerly awaiting the chrysalis stage and then for the ladybirds to finally emerge.

Father’s Day Lunch in Nursery

Thank you to all of the daddy’s, grandad’s and mummy’s that came to share a special lunch with the children today. The children were extremely excited and had an amazing time showing you all of the activities they get up to! We hope you like your little treats and have a very Happy Father’s Day!

Mystery Reader in Nursery

The Nursery children enjoyed a visit from Carter’s daddy on Wednesday. He read ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘The Monkey Puzzle’, as always the children sat and listened really well.  

BMX & Mountain Bike Trail Velodrome Cycling Event

Five Year 6 pupils attended Burnwood Primary School and took part in a Cycling Event. This was the first time any of the pupils had experienced a velodrome, BMX and mountain bike track before. The children raced against Burnwood and we are proud to say they won! well done.

Long Service Award for Mrs Bailey

A huge congratulations to Mrs Bailey whose 25 years service was celebrated during assembly this morning. She received a card, gifts and a lovely speech from the Lord Mayor and Cllr Dave Evans. A big well done and thank you to Mrs Bailey for her continued hard work.

Thanks to our Potters ‘Arf Volunteers!

These children were thanked in assembly this morning for representing Hillside and manning a water station during last week’s Potters ‘Arf event. They are pictured here with the Lord Mayor with their plates and coasters. Mrs Green (who coordinated the station- thank you) has presented them with a sweet present too!
