Transition Week – our new Y5 Class
Year 5 got stuck straight in to hard science work in their new classroom with their ‘new’ teacher. Miss McCann was particularly impressed with how hard the children worked during the week and how much more mature they seemed. She is looking forward teaching them as real Year 5’s in September.
Athletics – City Finals
Years 4, 5 and 6 represented ‘Hanley Town’ at the City Finals. All of the children performed to their highest ability and experienced a highly competitive finals competition.
French Day
To promote language learning at Hillside, the children will be taking part in a range of French activities. The Year 5 children have been busy preparing for their French market and they can’t wait for the other classes to visit.
Transition Week – our new Year 6 Class
The new Year 6’s have settled in well to their class. They have been rollercoaster tycoons and created a themepark by using maths in real contexts and they have also written a recount from the perspective of one of the animals from last week’s visit by the Unconventional Menagerie.
Hillside Signing Choir

A huge congratulations to our Year 6 pupils who have received their SATs results today. They have all worked incredibly hard, showing amazing determination and deserve their fantastic results. Well done and thank you to their parents for being so supportive too.

Transition Week – our new Year 3 Class
Year 3 Treasure Hunt – Our new Year 3s have spent the week solving Mr Mellor and Mrs Pope’s maths challenges and earning pieces of a treasure map. Today they went out to search for the treasure and found it in our woodlands! Well done for working so hard!
