Mystery Reader in Reception

A big thank you to our Mystery Reader, Jocelyn’s mum who came in to read ‘Homer the Library Cat’ and a book by our Author of the Term -Julia Donaldson  called ‘Night Monkey, Day Monkey’. The children sat beautifully and really enjoyed the stories.

Atlas work in Year 3

This afternoon in Geography, the children are using atlases to locate the oceans and continents of the world. They are also looking at the Equator and the countries that are on the Equator.  

Nursery Forest School

Nursery have been up to the woods today for their first forest school session! We explored the forest before listening to a story and drinking our milk in the storytelling area! The children all behaved beautifully and had great fun. Well done Nursery!  

DougieMac Bring A Pound Day 2019 🌻

Representatives from the 🌻DougieMac🌻 have just left having picked up the money we have collected. They loved our yellow-themed dress down day and said a huge thank you for your kind donations. Thank you from Hillside too!    

Headteacher Awards – Friday 4th October 2019

Well done to the children who have been recognised for displaying one of our school values and were awarded with a Headteacher’s certificate in celebration assembly this morning.

Mystery Reader in Year 3

Thank you Mrs Beckett for coming to read in Year 3. The children enjoyed listening to  ‘The Three Little Pigs’. It wasn’t like the story they had heard before because it was a revolting rhyme written by Roald Dahl. The children in Year 3 would definitely recommend it.  

Key Strings Performance

We are all excited that we have Key Strings in school this morning. Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and 2 have already had lots of fun listening to various instruments and pieces of music. They have been joining in and learning about how sounds are made and changed. What a lovely morning 🎶.
