On Monday 25th February, we will be joined by PC Griffiths from Staffordshire Police who will be delivering workshops to our KS2 classes around children’s online safety. PC Griffiths works specifically in Stoke on Trent North and is involved with safeguarding against Gangs and CSE. Although she isn’t coming into school to specifically talk about these issues, she will emphasise the dangers of the internet and social media and is keen to share key messages around screen time, PEGI ratings and use of social media.
Each KS2 class (Year 3, 4, 5, 6) will be allocated a 30 minute slot with PC Griffiths and we are inviting parents into school to share this experience with their children and hear these safety messages also.
The afternoon will be timetabled like this:
Year 3 – 1:00 – 1:30
Year 4 – 1:30 – 2:00
Year 5 – 2:00 – 2:30
Year 6 – 2:30 – 3:00
You are warmly invited to attend and are asked to report to the main school office at the appropriate time. If you have children in different classes you may just want to attend one workshop as the content will be the same in each.
Please note that latecomers will not be admitted as this will distract the children and their workshop.
