May the 4th is anti-bullying day worldwide and at Hillside this year, we have talked about how important it is to choose kindness. We have shared an assembly and talked about how being kind and having people be kind to us makes us feel, how important it is for our mental health and other peoples, and we know that if we choose kindness, we will make a big difference to the world around us! Everyone has been set a challenge: to complete a random act of kindness at school or at home. This can be something small, like tucking in their chair or saying thank you, or it could be something bigger, like helping at home or offering to do a job! Why not ask your child what they plan to do or have done to show kindness? (They were allowed to keep it a secret so if they don’t tell you, keep an eye out for something lovely that they might do at home!) If you spot an act of kindness at home or plan to do one together (adults showing kindness is very important too!) why not send in a picture or a little line detailing the act for us to share in school? We would love to see them and commend our kind children – email the office marked for Mrs Rushton if so! Thank you and have a wonderfully kind week! 💛
