Number Hunt
Reception have been on a number hunt in the woods today. We then had an exciting game of hide and seek where we thankfully managed to find all of the children.
British Ceramics biennial trip
A group of Hillside pupils have been in the Spode clay pit this morning. They had total freedom to create whatever they wanted. Some of their creations were amazing! The Great Roman Bake Off
Year 4 have had a busy day at the bakery today, making bread rolls from their own designs. The bread had to: be made from Roman ingredients, look attractive and taste delicious! Local Democracy Event
Leon, Faith and Isabella have represented Hillside at a Local Democracy event held at The Civic Centre this afternoon. They have toured the Lords Mayors Parlour, taken part in a debate in the Council Chambers and taken part in a discussion and ballot about how their local area could be improved. They were fantastic ambassadors.
‘Key Strings’ visit Hillside – Key Stage 2
All children have had a wonderful morning enjoying learning about different stringed instruments, how they are played and the sounds that they can make! Some of us even got to play the instruments and we all joined in singing and clapping along to many Beatles classics!
‘Key Strings’ Performance – Early Years & Key Stage 1
Our Early Years and KS1 classes are having a morning filled with musical excitement. We have welcomed Key Strings into school. They they are entertaining us with music from the Beatles and educating us about musical instruments. The photo above shows our newly-formed stiffle band and rock n roll band.
