This week we have enjoyed playing snakes and ladders together, taking turns, counting and subitising the dots on the die and moving our counters the correct amount of spaces. We loved landing on the ladders and zooming ahead but we tried hard to avoid the snakes!🐍 🎲

Reception had a fantastically creative time at their showcase on Friday. The singing was beautiful as were the various pieces of artwork that the children created. There was even a treasure hunt linked to one of our favourite stories.

Reception are busy working hard on their Christmas hat designs for our Christmas dinner next week. They have to choose which shape they would like their hat to be, by dragging the points into position and then think about the colours and patterns that they would like. Unfortunately, due to the weather, we were unable to go to the church today. But luckily Reverend Karen was able to come to us. We enjoyed listening to the Christmas story and celebrating by singing the carols that we had been learning. What a fantastic start to our Christmas celebrations!
Over the past few weeks we have been using technology in our classroom. We have been learning how to use the Bee-bots, exploring on Purple Mash and using 2Simpl to create pictures linked to our learning.
Reception have been working hard on their phonics and writing skills this week. We have now begun to learn the digraphs ch, sh and th and are beginning to use them in words and sentences. Here we are practising writing sometimes these words. Well done Reception, we are so proud of you.
The children have had a great time completing a workout with Joe Wicks today as part of our Children In Need activities. We have been running, marching, squatting and lunging before ending with a lovely stretch to relax our bodies. Super work out Nursery!
