The Hillside Post Office is now open for business in the Reception classroom. The children have been learning to write letters, wrap packages for posting, weighing a variety of parcels and even completing their car tax forms. We are expecting lots of creative language and acting over the next few weeks.

Reception have been learning about Bonfire Night this week. They have been busy making junk model fireworks, creating a firework poem, making chocolate sparklers, and today they re-enacted the story of Guy Fawkes. We also built a bonfire in the woods and then sang a bonfire song. What a busy week!

The new Year Six Book Club started today and the children are reading The Nowhere Emporium by Ross Mackenzie. There are some familiar faces who have returned to the club but also some new members. Year One have been learning and reciting their own poetry! They have created rhyming verses about the different seasons and then performed as a class verses about Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. They were confident performers and their science and geography learning shone through! Well done! 🍂
