Year 3 Book Tasting
Year 3 kicked off Book Week by tasting books selected by the children as some of their favourites from our book corner. Hopefully it has inspired the children to try something new when they next come to pick up a book!

Towards the end of last week, Mr Such dropped in to see Year 3 and showed them a song he had found. The children loved it and we all had a sing and a dance to start our afternoon off. Thank you Mr Such!
We have ended our first day of Book Week with teacher swapsies. The children have enjoyed having a different member of staff read to them and they are all very excited about the activities that are taking place tomorrow.
This morning the Year 4 children enjoyed book tasting. While the children were reading the books they drank some delicious hot chocolate with marshmallows and munched on tasty crisps and popcorn. The children all agreed it was a lovely experience. They read a range of new books and are looking forward to reading the rest…
Year One thoroughly enjoyed their book tasting session this morning! They chose a starter, main and dessert and enjoyed reading with hot chocolate and biscuits! Everyone rated their books and discussed their favourite parts – ask which they liked the best tonight! ☕️
The children in Nursery have enjoyed listening to a range of books today, each group has sat with a lovely drink of milkshake and a biscuit and talked about the stories they have read. They are looking forward to reading lots more stories throughout the week!
Nursery love to practice their gross motor movements, last week we learnt ‘the hump’ the children listened to the song and created big hump movements with their ribbons, they also practiced drawing humps using the chalks!
The Book Bench is nearly finished! Year 4 and 5 children have been completing the block colours today. The shading and detail will be added later in the week, ready for the bench to be varnished. We are all excited to see the finished result and can’t wait to sit and read on the bench.
Welcome to the Reception Book Cafe where the children have had the opportunity to ‘taste’ lots of exciting new books as well as enjoying a biscuit and a cup of strawberry milkshake.
Today, World Book Week started with a wow. Y2 spent the morning book tasting. We discussed the titles, authors and genres of books. We then spent time reading books of our choice. The class had a lovely time enjoying books, and we are excited for the rest of the fun activities this week!
