In the Reception classroom today, the children have been designing and making their own tin foil boats. The challenge was to discover which design would hold the most cubes before sinking. The winning amount was well over 100!
In year 5, children had the opportunity to make paper aeroplanes and learn about forces. There were lots of brilliant planes that flew very well!
Go Wild Forest School spent the day helping the children use a Ferro Rod (flint & steel) to light cotton wool! We talked about the 3 elements of a fire (oxygen-heat-fuel). The safety of fire. All the children managed to light the cotton wool. Lots of fun in the woods today!
The children are using an app on the iPads to bring pictures of ants and spiders to life.
What a delicious, teaser of a science activity! Children have had the opportunity to make skittle rainbows, marshmallow houses for the three little pigs and solve allsorts of problems with liquorice! The children were fab at resisting temptation and not eating their experiments! 🐷
