D&T in Year 4
This afternoon the Year 4 children have learnt how to use saws carefully to cut pieces of wood. Miss Nelson and Mrs Ward have been very impressed. The children are looking forward to using these skills when building bridges.

Our after school Forest Schooling Club had a fantastic session yesterday. We have been minibeast hunting, and found many different ones under stones, in rotting wood and in the leaf litter. We identified the types of minibeasts found and then made them a shelter out of natural resources.
Hillside Science Ambassadors have been busy again working on the KS1 playground. They have been demonstrating how we can generate static electricity using a balloon, and showing how it can then pick up tissue paper people. I wonder how many little people they managed to pick up?
Year 4 children have enjoyed taking part in a tri golf competition, competing against schools across the city. They took part in a range of challenges focused on different aspects of golf. We look forward to finding out the results later this week.
