Reception had a fantastically creative time at their showcase on Friday. The singing was beautiful as were the various pieces of artwork that the children created. There was even a treasure hunt linked to one of our favourite stories.
Year Six have been designated the task of building Jim Jarvis, from our English test ‘Street Child’, a market stall to sell his shrimps. Year two have learned about the artist Martin Bulinya this term. They learnt many facts about his life, practised the skills and imitated a piece of his art before creating their own Martin Bulinya inspired art. They finished their unit by having a mini art gallery exhibit to showcase their wonderful work.
Year Three went on a trip to Rio de Janeiro this week. They met and handled lots of rainforest animals, learned some samba moves and tried Brazilian snacks. They all had a fantastic time and didn’t want to come home!
After learning lots of festive songs to sing, Year Five have created their own music to support them. It was fantastic listening to them performing on the acoustic guitars and percussion.

In Geography, the children have been enjoying learning about the different stage and features of rivers. They have also enjoyed reading about the journey of a river in shared reading.
Last night’s Rowing event at Hillside was a fantastic success. A group of our Year 5’s welcomed a group of children from Burnwood Primary school. This was Burnwood’s first introduction to rowing. All of the children had great fun and managed to record some great times. Well done!
