Mystery Reader in Reception

Well done to the Hillside pupils who competed in the Paralympic competition at Haywood Academy. The children were given the opportunity to try new age curling, seated volleyball, goldenball and boccia.
We had a lovely last afternoon with a group of Year 5s toasting marshmallows to make s’mores & having hot chocolate. Some of the group made some Remembrance Poppies too. They also played woodland games and explored the woods.
The children have enjoyed Beckett’s mummy coming in to read a story today. They sat and listened beautifully to ‘The Gingerbread Man’. Well done Nursery!
Y2 had the most fantastic surprise from Bobby’s mum this afternoon!! She brought two fantastic books and a telescope!! We read two stories by Nick Sherratt and we discussed that they rhymed! Year Six’s first Mystery Reader of the term was Mrs Oxford, a friend of Mr Such. Following this morning’s Remembrance Assembly, Mrs Oxford has brought in some poetry that she has written related to the Great War.
