At the end of the Summer Term, we received a visit from Dr Paulette Osbourne MBE with a view to assessing the quality of RE Teaching and Learning at Hillside. We are extremely pleased to announce that we were awarded the Silver Quality Mark Award.
Dr Osbourne was impressed with the knowledge and attitude that the pupils displayed towards their learning and noted that ‘RE stands shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the curriculum, at Hillside. Pupils are given opportunities to explore how RE interleaves with other the subject disciplines. Hillside have made a conscious decision to ensure that staff subject knowledge is strong and as a consequence staff are able to present the learning in engaging and varied ways.’ She also noted one of the children’s quotes that she was particularly impressed with, “There is never a right or wrong way in RE, it’s all about reflection”.
