We have been ‘Super Spinners’ in STEM club this week, helping Mr Sycamore to decide which size helicopter blades would make the safest landing. We investigated different sizes of spinners and found that longer blades took the spinners longer to reach the ground than shorter ones. We learned that this was due to air resistance and the longer blades had more surface area to ‘trap’ the air on the way down. Miss McCann was very impressed with the teamwork and investigating skills demonstrated! Well done STEM club!
