It’s History Day today at Hillside. Each class is having one lesson in every classroom within their key-stage today. Children are moving around the school learning about different people and events from the past. Each class-teacher has prepared engaging activities to help children learn about something/one that they would otherwise not get the opportunity to learn about. Mrs Ashton is teaching about Roald Dahl, Mrs Guy is teaching about Walt Disney, Mrs Rushton is doing Florence Nightingale and Mr Mellor is teaching about Guy Fawkes. In Key-Stage Two, children are learning about Henry VIII in Miss Nelson’s class, The Battle of Hastings in Miss McCann’s class, the Black Death in Mr Soboljew’s class and World War I in Mr Frost’s class.
